The Architectural Model Studios

What are the Architectural Model Studios? The Architectural Model Studios are units of Keyserkill Studios, Inc. that specialize in the design and construction of miniature models known as "architectural models". The models created by the Architectural Design Studios are tangible, three-dimensional models. They are not computerized representations that are visible only upon a video display screen.

Architectural models can be roughly divided into two distinct categories: interior models and exterior models.

Interior Models: an interior architectural model is a model of the interior design and layout of a building. Interior architectural models are useful for planning the arrangement of decorations, fixtures, furniture and non-bearing partitions. The simplest interior model contains exact scale representations of bearing walls, doorways, windows and other permanent architectural features. Scale models of non-permanent features, such as furniture, carpeting, and partitions, can be arranged and re-arranged within the interior model.

Exterior Models: an exterior architectural model is a model of the external appearance of a building or a community of buildings. Exterior architectural models can represent:

1. existing buildings along with their landscaping, or

2. ...they can represent buildings that exist only in the planning stage, or

3. ...they can even represent buildings that exist only in the imagination of the model-builder, such as the buildings shown in the "Four Corners" models discussed under Exteriors Studio. This category of models includes models that can be used for promotional purposes, such as displays in lobbies or public exhibition halls.
